Any city with a river weaving its way through its heart, is a plus for me. But after a while in Calgary, I needed more greenery.
Within the city limits, Weaselhead Environment Reserve in South West Calgary had wild rose, Alberta’s flower, blooming along the trail and aspen shivering in the breeze. It was easy to step back into nature, yet not be far from the action of the city.
While a little further south, was Fish Creek Provincial Park, not far from downtown Calgary yet, there were few people enjoying the trails.
