When I lived against this creek in Coquitlam, I walked the trail weekly. There were fish symbols advising visitors to protect the salmon plastered along the trail. I used to peer into the clear stream and not see anything. I wasn’t aware back then that the salmon only arrived in fall.

When autumn came, I counted 550 spawning salmon along a kilometre stretch of the creek that year, swishing their tails or resting at the side of the bank.

Now I’m waiting for this coming November for the First Nation salmon festival that takes place along Hoy Creek.

Nice shots !

Thanks! I sat still on the bank for a long time for that beautiful male.

That’s why I like where I live because all the creeks have been left in tact for the salmon

Precisely why I am upset with Mumbai ..all our water bodies are polluted and we have no remorse .

Sad, but you have way more people to contend with. I find garbage along these waterways too. There are always people who don’t care about the world’s beauty.

I live in drought stricken place right now, with drying up waterholes and lakes etc. I wish for replenishment at least this year.
