A stroll through Melbourne’s Middle Park

Walking the dogs through Middle Park, I was in awe. The Melbourne suburb is an inner city suburb with Albert Park and St Kilda on one side and Port Phillip Bay on the other. I whipped out my camera at the unique vegetation.

When Europeans first invaded Australia, they brought their fir trees and roses because they weren’t impressed with what covered the landscape. Fortunately, that changed and yards I passed, spilt over with varieties of bottle brush and banksia robur that enticed native birds. Branches bounced with cockatoos, lorikeets or galahs pouncing on the nectar; their echoing screeches ringing through the airways.
