Dublin’s time warp

I travelled back hundreds of yearsĀ in Dublin. Tracing the cobbled stone walkway of eighteenth century Trinity College, I found the Book of Kells. The thousand year old book was displayed under glass within the college. Equally as impressive was its library with books towering from floor to ceiling while my footsteps echoed off the wooden floor.

On the opposite side of the inner city stood a part of the Dublin wall, dating back to 1240 that once surrounded a much smaller city.

I felt as if I was in another time until I stepped inside a pub for lunch. A soccer match boomed at top volume at the entrance so I climbed wooden steps to escape the shouts of the mesmerized drinkers only to find another tv on the upper floor. My time warp was over.
