Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth Game Park

Close to Uganda’s western border with the Congo, was a huge stretch of animal reserve obviously named by the British.

In the distance, the Rwenzori Mountains were a haze. I took a safari tour where I spotted most of the common big game. What stayed in my mind however, were the lion, idling under a skimpy tree. I felt rather sorry for them with our van intruding on their day that prompted me to write a poem about the experience from their perspective.
