I bused from Ho Chi Minh City to Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta. We past rice paddy fields, coconut and banana trees and even sugar cane farms. This part of Vietnam was even flatter than the Canadian prairies. A patchwork of different shades of green was a dream after being in a big city.

We crossed the mighty Mekong River before arriving in Ben Tre. I headed over the Ben Tre River away from town and wound my way along a path through coconut palms, a tiny graveyard and a variety of beautiful houses hidden amongst the greenery.

Wow…. the place looks striking similar to Kuttanad region in Kerala
