On Tran Hung Dao, the Dalat Cadasa Resort was made up of six houses once occupied by the French colonialists. The properties were turned into tourist accommodation and the best part was that it was possible to wander through each house and view some of the rooms without being a guest of the resort.

I met a Canadian couple who stayed in one of the houses and said they found it a bit creepy because they were the only guests in one of the houses.

Each house had its own unique design with dark wood trimmings, shutters on the windows and balconies that overlooked beautiful gardens. Although most of the buildings were in need of TLC, their grandeur still shone through.
