I tracked the progress of the new construction in Town Centre Park, Coquitlam with both awe and disappointment.
The stage design borders on artistic with symbols of salmon skirting the perimeter. Revered in the fall when they quiver up our creeks, they’ve become a symbol repeated in other parts of the city.
At the same time, I shake my head at the open air seating in a place that has close to the highest rainfall in an already wet corner of the province. As well, I feel disillusioned that another part of our verdant park has been cemented over.
