With the Bow River on one side and the end of Chinatown on the other, Sien Lok Park sat on a slightly quieter section of downtown Calgary.
Plaques and statues dotted the green space. The one I was most keen to read, the Chinese history and contribution to Canada, was faded and sections peeled so too difficult to read.
Opposite was a pagoda where a lone woman soaked up the verdant vista.
