I’ve visted this isolated island reserved south of Vancouver in the summer, but this time, I wanted to see if the snowy owl had made its way south yet.

Unfortunately, there was no sign of that particular owl, but the day was perfect, especially after more rainy days than I can remember.

The resident ducks seemed to take over the ponds, while a couple of heron stood motionless in the distance.
The wood duck is very pretty! I have seen one or two at our city park – it’s not easy to take their pictures as they are really shy.
