At the Heart of Vancouver’s Chinatown

Vancouver’s Chinatown covered more than three square blocks. Its heart was either side of Pender East, but there were other streets where I glimpsed every kind of remedy inside Chinese herbal stores as well as grocery shops stocked a variety of Chinese vegetables.

Even the signs were written in Chinese calligraphy

There were tea shops with a distinctly different aroma as soon as I set foot inside where I might have sampled tea. I wandered through shops full of Chinese trinkets and jewellery not found in any other part of the city.img_2240
