Airport Art

Artist: Bill Reed

Vancouver Airport is an easy structure to navigate, but have you ever noticed the art? There are a large number of Inuit carvings enclosed in glass cases that run along the railings, and the sound of running water is an art unto itself.

What inspired me the most were the larger pieces of First Nation carvings of the supernatural world. As I photographed these unique pieces of sculpture and read about the artists who live right along the West Coast from north to south, not one other person stopped to admire their work.
