Alone over the Great Barrier Reef

After our tour boat anchored, almost everyone took advantage of the glass bottom boats to view the reef, except me. I snorkelled over a different part of the reef to spy the wonderworld below.img_0146

Giant clam shells and colourful tropical fish were interwoven into the coral as I floated on the surface. Every now and then I raised my head because I was alone in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight. Was the boat still there?

    1. Ha! I’m still here, but will never forget the eerie feeling of being the only swimmer — can only compare it to driving in central Auz and not seeing another car on the road for over an hour.
