The Great Ocean Road’s Thunder Cave

An arch once marked the entrance to the tiny inlet leading to the Thunder Cave. With wind and wave action however, the arch collapsed in 1990.

Site where the arch once stood

As we approached the viewing point, we could hear the waves pounding into the cave. Fortunately, the beauty of this location didn’t attract the bus loads of tourists like the Twelve Apostles, and we were able to enjoy the site in relative peace.
