Thames Hiking Trail

Following by Firth of Thames, I hiked north past mangroves undulating with the waves that surged against a rock barrier.

Mangroves along part of the trail

Around the next bend, birds perched on pylons; the remains of Burke Wharf; a harbour project that failed. Ahead were fishers though none had caught any fish when I passed.

The path arched around the next inlet to a beach where I turned back not wanting to leave, but I still had another one hundred kilometres to drive.
