I visited this quaint little town in peak tourist season, yet I didn’t spot one other tourist — what a luxury when every other place I’d visited had been on tourist overload.

This was a town caught in a time warp and I couldn’t help wander the streets from along the bay, to the railway station as well as the town’s centre. Everything seemed to be well maintained as if the locals were proud of their cute town.

I wished I could have stayed longer, but I had to be back in Auckland for a flight leaving behind this beautiful country.
