One of Australian artist, Sydney Nolan’s most famous series was his Ned Kelly paintings. As I wandered through the Reed’s original home which made up part of the Heidi Museum of Modern Art, I came across one from the series hiding in the library.
The artist spent a lot of time with the Reeds where he produced many of his Ned Kelly paintings. He even stored his art in what they called the Doll’s House. The building had originally been a milking shed when they purchased the property.
Even though his Ned Kelly series are probably his most famous works, I prefer his River Bend series that I once came across in the Brisbane Art Gallery.
