Vancouver Island’s Cathedral Grove

Because this site was only a ten minute drive from Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park that I’d just hiked around, I decided to revisit the short loop walk through a forest of mainly douglas firs.


The real giants were eight hundred years old, while many were around the three hundred year mark.


On the easy walking trail, these trees towered above, blocking out the sunlight and often I couldn’t see the tops of the trees.
