This was the second location I stumbled upon depicting a battle against the Japanese during World War II.

The first had been in Bukit Timah when the troops had been defeated. This battle took place earlier when both Australian troops and Singapore volunteers had defeated the Japanese while they were stuck in the mud.

Now the site is a park overlooking the Straights of Johor on one side and a busy road on the other.
It’s hard to imagine a bloodbath once occurred in such a serene greenery.
