One of my all time favourite Australian artists has always been Arthur Boyd. On a previous visit to Melbourne, there had been a special exhibition of his Bride Series at the Heide.

This visit, I ventured into the State Theatre situated two doors up from the St Kilda Road National Gallery of Victoria. Back in 1984 Lewis Construction Company donated Arthur Boyd’s Shoalhaven series that has been on display in the upstairs foyer ever since.

They depict views of the region in New South Wales at different times of the day.
