I’d hiked for over an hour. It was time to pamper myself in Harrison Hot Springs pools. There were both indoor and outdoor pools and I decided to venture into the outdoors in spite of the icy day.
I slipped into the one considered the “coolest” that was still a cosy warm and did laps because there was only one other person free styling up and down like a yo-yo. Steam rose off the pool before giant fir trees with the placid sky beyond.
The hard part was leaving that warmth, grabbing my bundle and hurrying bare foot into the next pool. It wasn’t until I sat in the hottest pool that I learned from another bather who left his towel by the rock next to the pool. Yes, definitely what I should have done instead of freezing in the now two degree morning, speed walking in bare feet.
I lounged in the hottest pool and as I glided around the soothing waters, my foot touched one of the filters where the water entered. I couldn’t keep my foot on the entering water long. It was way too hot.
