On a walk down George Street towards the Brisbane River, I kept my eye out for the city’s older buildings. There was the men’s club opposite the Botanic Gardens and Parliament House diagonally across from this graceful building.

But I didn’t venture into any of the buildings because there was something I was determined to revisit. However, I hope these buildings are never torn down because they retain the character of one of Australian’s most casual capital cities.

Beautiful buildings and indeed they have characteristics!

What gorgeous beauties! I had no idea Brisbane had these lovely old buildings – so far my impression of the city has always been one of gleaming skyscrapers by the river and the Story Bridge. I’d love to visit someday.
