I stepped off UBC grounds and down steps for some 200 metres until I reached a stony beach. This was not your regular beach. The sign warned — a clothing optional beach. I had known this before I ventured down its steps, but thought on a brisk cool day I wouldn’t find anyone parading around without their clothes.

There were few about and those I did pass as I clambered over stones around the next point were thankfully clothed. I passed eroding cliffs before I arrived at the sandy section about a kilometre away.

I have kayaked there.

That would have been even better than the hike

It looks beautiful! I’ve never been to a clothing-optional beach, and not sure that I will anytime soon. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, it was. More on the trail on my next BC post.
