Along the Wreck Beach Trail I spied poles rising over the sand in the distance. This was where most people hung out, sitting on logs staring into the Straight of Georgia.
I thought I’d passed the clothing optional section of the beach. Once I headed along the winding path through trees with glimpses of floating logs waiting for export, I discovered I was wrong. I kept my head down and galloped past a nude bather. I was relieved when I finally arrived at the steps that led up near UBC’s Botanical Gardens.
I wanted to hike this trail seeing I’d never been before, but no thanks, I won’t be doing it again in spite of its superb location.
