About 1.8 million years ago, Yeongmeori meaning dragon head was formed by an underwater explosion. I descended steep steps through a chasm over the oldest rock on Jeju Island. It was a fight to watch where I stepped when the weathered basalt rock formed unique shapes.

The cliffs were twenty metres high consisting of weathering pits, whirlwind holes, sea caves and small faults that lined the shoreline. Stone bridges were constructed over sweeping waters so people could walk the entire 600 metre coast where these strange formations extended.

Incredibly photos, and what a place!
