Taipei’s Gongguan Night Market was not a huge market, but it was the closest to my hotel and I’d missed the experience in Seoul because I’d only stayed in South Korea’s capital a couple of nights.
Traffic roared along Rooseveldt Road where brightly lit shops displayed an array of goods. Although the market may have been small, the atmosphere was vibrant with people lapping up the cheap food. I headed to the food stalls circling back and forth and had not only one of the tastiest dishes since my arrival in Taiwan, but also the least expensive — under $4 (Canadian).
By the end my stay in Taiwan, I realized this was the best meal I had during my entire three weeks on the island.
