Buntzen Lake’s Nurse Stumps

One hundred years ago, loggers swarmed into the forests of Anmore chopping down every tree to haul back to Port Moody. They chopped notches in the cedars to insert a platform where they could stand to reach the straight part of the tree before cutting it to the ground.

Anyone living in my corner of the world, has to get used to the rain. While this makes for a dreary winter, the plus side is tall trees, the freshness of the forest and a deep appreciation for every sunny day.
