The Coquitlam River

The Coquitlam River flows from Coquitlam Lake into the Fraser River — a distance of only fourteen kilometres. I’ve hiked its trails that span both sides of the river from Crystal Falls in its upper reaches to the estuary.

Whitianga

Whitianga lay on the opposite side of the estuary from Ferry Landing. It was one of the bigger towns along the Coromandel Coast with a sizeable marina that appeared as if everyone in the town had a yacht.
