This was a down hill hike all the way to the water’s edge. On the hot afternoon we hiked, the water was tempting and not it’s usual icy temperature. Gowlland Tod’s, Holmes Peak Trail

On the way to our next Vancouver Island hike, we spotted a deer feeding beside the road and another along the hiking trail. A Free Feast

While descending to the rocky shoreline on our Gowlland Tod Provincial Park hike, I wandered over a beach covered in pebbles and shells. I didn’t notice what lay over the boulders at first. I was too busy studying a starfish half hidden amongst the rocks. Continue reading A Free Feast

Gowlland Tod Provincial Park (McKenzie Bright)

This was an out of the way location over winding roads west of Vancouver Island’s Saanich. The best part about this easy walking trail was that it fringed Finlayson Arm so there was always a view of the water and the tree covered shoreline opposite.
