A taste for Jeju

Jeju Island was my favourite place to eat in South Korea. It was seafood heaven, and if you’re a fan of the delights from the ocean, this is the island to head to for variety and freshness.

Cheonjiyeon Falls

Jeju’s Seogwipo had a second waterfall that may not have been as dramatic as Jeongbank Falls, but the setting was more picturesque. High cliffs enclosed the valley where lush vegetation fringed the clear waters from Sombancheon River.

Jeju’s Jeongbang Falls

Within Seogwipo City along the waterfront on the southern coast of Jeju Island was Jeongbang Waterfall, claimed to be the only waterfall in Asia to plummet directly into the sea.

Jeju herb dongsan

This herb garden was half way between Seongsan and Seogwipo on the south-east coast of Jeju Island. There were not only gardens of herbs and fragrant flowers, but accommodation available for those seeking natural treatments. I sampled herbal tea that was one of the best I’d ever tasted.
